Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry is proud to offer hospital dentistry as an option for children
with Special Needs and those who are 4 years and younger who have extensive treatment
plans.
Our doctors are credentialed at Children's Hospital of Saint Paul, Minneapolis, and the Minnetonka facility. We will also be available to perform procedures at Mercy Hospital of Coon Rapids in the near future.

Steps in the Scheduling of a Patient for Hospital Dentistry:
- The parent contacts their Medical Insurance carrier to ask whether they will cover General Anesthesia and the Facilities Fees for Dental work. This is not Dental Surgery.
- We send out an Estimate for the Dental Services to your Dental Insurance Carrier electronically. It may take 3-4 weeks to receive a response from them. This will tell us what your estimated patient portion will be for the procedures to be performed. Once we know this, we will contact you and ask for a down payment based on this amount. Then we will set up a financial arrangement and schedule your procedure with the hospital.
- You must call and schedule a "Pre-Op physical" with your child's medical physician. This MUST be within 7 days of the scheduled procedure date.
- The hospital will call and confirm with you 24 hours before the procedure and give instructions for any preparations you need to make before your arrival time.
Please note! These procedures require substantial time for us to arrange, therefore we ask for 2-3 days notice if they must be rescheduled or cancelled. This will allow another child in need to take your place if you must cancel. We understand that some circumstances change suddenly, but we ask for as much notice as you can give us if changes need to be made.
